Plasma Concentrations of Matrilysins MMP-7 and MMP-26 as Diagnostic Biomarkers in Breast Cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a group of proteolytic enzymes involved in the maintenance proper structure extracellular matrix (ECM). Matrilysins (MMP-7 and MMP-26) members MMPs that show promise as potential breast cancer (BC) markers. The aim study was to evaluate plasma levels MMP-7, MMP-26 CA 15-3 individually combination assess diagnostic utility studied matrilysins patients with BC. consisted 120 BC, control 40 subjects benign healthy women. Concentrations MMP-7 were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay. Plasma significantly higher BC than group. highest stages II IV disease. sensitivity observed III for all tested markers (92.5%). specificity noted parameters combined (95.0%). area under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) (MMP-7+MMP-26+CA 15-3) largest (0.9138) IV. Individual marker analysis showed had AUC (0.8894) advanced Study results indicate could be used an additional would improve early Therefore, assessment might useful determining disease progression. Further studies needed whether improving diagnosis

Detection of serum MMP-7 and MMP-9 in cholangiocarcinoma patients: evaluation of diagnostic accuracy

BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma is an aggressive tumor with a tendency for local invasion and distant metastases. Timely diagnosis is very important because surgical resection (R0) remains the only hope for a cure. However, at present, there is no available tumor marker that can differentiate cholangiocarcinoma from benign bile duct disease. Previous studies have demonstrated that matrix metallop...

Plasma Level of miRNA-7, miRNA-409 and miRNA-93 as Potential Biomarkers for Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among deadliest cancers all over the world. Regarding its high mortality, some researches have focused to discover new applicable diagnosis methods. In this regard, circulatory miRNAs has been received huge consideration as promising biomarkers for early detection of CRC. The study aimed to evaluate the expression level of miRNA-7, miRNA-93, and miRNA-409 in plasma of...

MMP-1 and Pro-MMP-10 as potential urinary pharmacodynamic biomarkers of FGFR3-targeted therapy in patients with bladder cancer.

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to identify noninvasive pharmacodynamic biomarkers of FGFR3-targeted therapies in bladder cancer to facilitate the clinical development of experimental agent targeting FGFR3. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Potential soluble pharmacodynamic biomarkers of FGFR3 were identified using a combination of transcriptional profiling and biochemical analyses in preclinical models....

No association between matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1, MMP-3, and MMP-7 SNPs and endometrial cancer risk.

The matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) function as regulators of the dynamic tissue remodeling that occurs in the endometrial lining of the uterus during the normal human menstrual cycle; dysregulation of the MMPs is thought to contribute to the development of both endometriosis and endometrial cancer (1). MMP-1 expression was found to be significantly higher in endometriotic lesions than in surro...

MMP-10, MMP-7, TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 mRNA expression in esophageal cancer.

INTRODUCTION Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP) and the matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are involved in the spread of cancer. METHODS We have evaluated the matrix metalloproteinases' (MMP-10, MMP-7) and their inhibitors' (tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases - TIMP-1, TIMP-2) mRNA expression in 61 esophageal cancer samples from patients who had undergone surgery, by using real-...
